A Frankfort woman died Saturday at University of Louisville Hospital after being severely injured in a crash Wednesday, Dec. 9, on Frankfort Road near Peytona.
Shelby County Sheriff's Detective Jason Rice said Clarice Burch, 46, was westbound on the highway when she apparently suffered a brain aneurysm, causing her to lose control. Her vehicle hit a culvert and flipped end over end several times, Rice said. He noted that she died because of trauma suffered in the crash.
Her funeral is Thursday at Harrod Brothers Memorial Chapel in Frankfort.

From the 'back barn' to the show ring

It has been a long time and a lot of good horses since Mike Spencer started grooming in the "back barn" for legendary saddlebred trainers Charles and Helen Crabtree. Barely a teenager, Spencer went to work as a groom for the Crabtrees. He was assigned to work in the barn in the back of the property.
