Pair indicted

on manslaughter charges

Two Oldham County men are jailed in the Shelby County Detention Center on complicity to commit manslaughter charges stemming from an October 2008 incident, Kentucky State Police said Monday.
Timothy Carpenter, 23, of La Grange, and Joshua Fast, also 23, of Crestwood, were arrested Friday in Oldham County. The men had earlier been indicted on burglary charges, and last week indictments were handed down for second-degree complicity to manslaughter.
The charges stem from an alleged home invasion on Brown Avenue in which another man, David L. Fletcher, 28, of Shelbyville, was shot and killed.
Resident Eric Reynolds, who shot Fletcher, was never charged in connection with the shooting. Fletcher and Reynolds had reportedly been roommates prior to the shooting.

Meredith is coordinator of the Shelby County Backpack Project Inc., which feeds hundreds of children every weekend who would probably otherwise go hungry.

It has been a long time and a lot of good horses since Mike Spencer started grooming in the "back barn" for legendary saddlebred trainers Charles and Helen Crabtree. Barely a teenager, Spencer went to work as a groom for the Crabtrees. He was assigned to work in the barn in the back of the property.
